About Us

You know what they say-- a picture is worth a thousand words, and we believe this shot perfectly captures our relationship.  A little bit odd, weird and funny faces, but always genuine (and ususally lots of giggles).

Contrary to our dominant handedness, Jen is on the left and Sara is on the right.

And now, onto our bios.  To keep things interesting, we decided to write each other's instead of our own.  We like a challenge and it ensures that you will get the real deal truth.

Sara is the older twin by two minutes, which is why her bio comes first.  She was the leader when we were kids and often got us in trouble by doing mischievous things like "trimming" (i.e. hacking) my bangs or sticking her fingers in a freshly iced cake, which she vehemently denied.

While we are both artistic, Sar's interests are strongly rooted in writing.  She is an extremely talented creative writer and poet (she was published in Chicken Soup for the Soul!) and is venturing into creating paper goods.  [I must insert here that I, Jen, struggle with writing and poetry gives me a headache. How can two people, who were essentially one to start out with, have such varied talents?].

Currently, Sara is an english teacher and while she serves all different types of students, she works with many special needs kids.  As she is not much older than many of her students, she tends to identify with where they are and what they struggle with (and I think show strong compassion and mentorship).   Her favorite activities include reading, writing (at coffee shops), trying new recipes and her most favorite-- napping.

Jen may be the younger twin, but she has become the pioneer of the two of us. As I mentioned in my maid of honor speech from Jen's September wedding, I have always watched her attempt something, and then I try. This has happened all of our life; legend has it that Jen walked and talked first. Though she is also a perfectionist, I am the watcher.

Completely self-taught, Jen is a bonafide jewelry artist. Since she began, her style has evolved from semi-precious stones and chunky necklaces to wire-wrapped precious stones and dainty, thoughtful pieces. What started as an after-work hobby has become an earnest endeavor. One of the many things I admire is Jen's interest in learning all aspects of her craft--both about jewelry and other art forms.

Aside from jewelry makin', Jen, her husband, and their two dogs are a vagabond family.  They have lived on both coasts and currently reside in the Lone Star state.  In her free time, Jen is kept on her toes by the dogs, C&R, various sewing projects, launching a small business, and the surprises that pop up in daily life.
